Fury League: PVP Unleashed
FURY FAQ

Q. When can I play Fury?

A. The FURY servers were switched on at 7:00pm GMT on the 16th of October 2007 (midday West Coast USA and 5am Oct 17th in Australia). The servers remain open at all times with the exception of scheduled maintenance (see below) or unforeseen outages. Play whenever you want, for as long as you want!

Q. Hang on … What’s this about Scheduled Maintenance?

A. The servers will be taken offline to perform important maintenance and apply patches every week. Scheduled maintenance periods will be between 2 and 6 hours in length, depending on how much work is required. If maintenance will last longer than 6 hours we will announce this as soon as possible on the FURY launcher.

Scheduled maintenance commences at 06:00am GMT every Tuesday (Monday evening in North America). To convert GMT to you local time please visit this website. The servers will be reopened no earlier than 08:00am GMT.

Q. What do I need to play Fury?

A. There are three important elements to playing Fury. You need: (i) the game client; (ii) an authentication key (a 25 digit code that you enter during account creation); and finally (iii) a Fury Account.

Q. What is the easiest, fastest, and best way to gain access to play Fury?

A. It’s easy. Just buy from the Auran Store right now, download the client, and enter your key to create your account. Once your account is created and you have the client installed, you are ready to play.

Q. I downloaded Fury and don’t have a box. Is there a manual online somewhere?

A. Sure is! Simply visit http://www.unleashthefury.com/manual/FURY_manual.pdf to view or download a PDF copy.

Q. I am having problems patching…

A. If you have an older version of Fury, the patcher may report some errors. While the game may run, it is possible it will contain errors that could cause crashes while playing the game. When in doubt, it is always safest to uninstall and start again by reinstalling using the most recent game client (we maintain a list of download locations on our forums).

Q. Why isn’t my old client supported for patching anymore?

A. We stop supporting older clients when the size of a patch becomes large enough that it is comparable to re-installing from an updated client installer. Patching from old clients can also increase the likelihood of a patch failure. You can find links to the latest client installer in this forum thread.

Q. How do I get the game client?

A. There are many different ways to get the client:

(i) Games retailers will sell you a box with a DVD and key included.
(ii) From the Auran Store (choose Digital Download).
(iii) From other digital stores (e.g. Direct2Drive, Bigpondgames).
(iv) By ordering the boxed version from our Online Store.
(v) By patching from a beta version (e.g. Fury Challenge versions).
(vi) By borrowing a friends install disk (we are happy for you to redistribute the game client as the authentication key is really what matters).

Q. How do I get an authentication key?

A. Your key comes in your retail box with purchase, or you can receive a key via email by purchasing online here. Once you have your key, create your Fury Account here.

Q. I have my authentication key … so how do I create my account?

A. Simply visit http://www.unleashthefury.com/account/ and follow the steps to create and activate your account.

Q. I have an Armor Code because I pre-ordered. How do I get my armor?

A. To obtain your exclusive pre-order armor set you will need to add the Armor Code to an active FURY account (this includes if you previously entered the code during Fury Challenge). Once your retail account is activated and you have logged in to your account management pages, click the ‘Use an Armor or Gift Code’ link, then ‘Enter New Code’ and enter your Armor Code. Once successful your armor will be waiting for you in your in-game mail box once you have completed the tutorial.

Q. I heard you can reserve your name by playing in the Beta?

A. Yes. If you used a name in Beta or Fury Challenge your name will have been reserved. To claim your name enter your new Authentication key into your Account and log in to the game. You will be prompted with your Avatar Name. These names will be reserved for you for at least 30 days from release on the 16th October 2007.

Q. Will there be a trial version of Fury?

A. Yes! Simply visit http://www.unleashthefury.com/freetrial/ to find out more.

Q. What is UAA?

A. UAA is short for Unlock All Abilities. UAA packs offer an alternative to the in-game character development system, meaning you do not need to spend your gold and Essence on unlocking and learning Abilities. It is a quick way to "catch up" to the players who have been playing longer than you, although owning the Abilities is only half the battle. Learning how to best use them is the real challenge!

Q. So how do the UAA packs work and what do they cost?

To buy a UAA pack simply visit the FURY Store in your account management pages. Individual archetype packs are priced at USD $7.45 and unlock all Abilities for the chosen archetype. A limited time offer of a full UAA pack – includes all abilities in FURY – is priced at USD $49.95 and includes a 3 month Immortal subscription. The Full UAA + 3 month subscription pack is available in the "Upgrade Your FURY Service Plan" section in your Account Management.

Once you have purchased a UAA pack you will receive an in-game mail confirming that the Abilities have been made available for your character.

Q. Doesn’t UAA mean that rich players will win?

A. Definitely not. All characters are limited to 24 Ability and Weapon Slots and 16 Armor Slots. You have a 1,000 Equip Point limit and the combination of Armor, Weapons and Abilities must remain at or below that limit. Those who choose to buy UAA will face difficult decisions with regards which abilities to use on their character.

Also, players who started playing days, weeks or even months before you will have more skill than a new player and have unlocked (either through purchase or normal play) a large number of abilities. UAA packs will be of most benefit to those who can only spend a few hours per week playing FURY and thus do not have the time to devote to rapidly unlocking all the abilities they want.

Q. Why do you sell subscriptions and Fury game cards?

A. Fury was developed by a large team over many years. All the developers have to make a living somehow, so box sales are not enough to cover those costs. Also, because there are ongoing costs in running the servers and adding new free content, we need ongoing revenues to support the game. Without additional revenues, there would be no servers and no additional content.

Q. Where can I find out more about the subscription?

A. Full details about the subscription can be found in the Business Model FAQ.

Q. So by becoming an Immortal I get access to a Test Server? Where? How?

A. Full details on when the Public Test Server (PTS) will become available, as well as how to access it, will be announced soon.
